This is one of my happiest days in Cambridge though it's nothing to be proud of. The completion of my MPhil degree is just the first step in my PhD study in Cambridge. Honestly, I thought the course I'm doing is like 1 year MPhil and if I passed the MPhil and being granted the permission to upgrade to PhD, I will only have a PhD degree at the end. But it wasn't like that. As I have completed 1 year MPhil with a dissertation, so it is a proper MPhil degree. So, alhamdulillah I got an extra degree. I wasn't planning to have the congregation simply because I don't want to feel proud about myself when it is just a little step towards a bigger goal and plus my family won't be able to come all the way from Malaysia to attend my congregation. But my friends here said that they will attend my graduation and it cost nothing for the ceremony except to rent a graduation gown, that's £13.00.
But the happiest thing today is a surprise visit from a friend from London, a friend I have missed all this while. She came without any notice and her presence is the greatest gift for my graduation. She came with another 2 gifts. One is a cake baked by her mum especially for me and a pink little camera. She knows how much I like photography but never really owned a camera. So she decided to give me one. It's perfect for my big day, alhamdulillah. My 2 Malaysian friends studying in Birmingham also came to my graduation.
I didn't really want people to know about this because this isn't any big thing but a sister sended an email to the whole list after she saw me getting a gown from a shop in the town. Anyway, I felt blessed with the presence of a lot of sisters in my graduation. I can't really share the photos of them here as I don't have their permission to do so and I won't ask them cos I don't want them to know my blog. So these are just a few pictures of me...
