Today, about 8000 schools in UK have no teachers to teach due to a strike over their salary, except those who still continue to give education to the innocent students who do not decide how much the teachers will be paid. Some students may well be happy when classes are cancelled. However, for those who truly want an education, they will be the group that will suffer the worst in this strike. Teachers' salary isn't that bad for a degree holder. Of course, with the salary one cannot enjoy a luxurious life style, yet it is enough to sustain in the UK.
As oil price and food price are rising drastically recently, will the teachers in Malaysia also go for a strike?

When civil servants go on strike, many people will give them cold looks. But there was a time quite so many years ago, when the teachers did go on a protest. However, since it was way back in the 1970's, I could not remember the outcome.
I do believe however, certain professions in the public service should be removed from the salary bracket of public servants. Teachers, Armed Forces, Medical Professionals, Fire and Police, should have their own salary bracket befitting the role they play. This is not to belittle the roles of the other services, but these are the critical services needed by the country and the country should give more towards them. May be, not in the sense of more pay, but perhaps a reduction in income tax, or increased allowance, or even food stamp for some food items which can be costly. Baby's milk, rice, meat, chicken - the quantum to be studied as per need. Otherwise, why bother having the statistics department counting Malaysia's population growth? Just my thoughts.

Back in those days, demonstrations, strikes, street protests were like quite common. Now, they are all Haram.
I agree with you to have different salary bracket for them, especially the police force so that salary is enough to stop them from bribery. ALLAHU'alam.
